![]() Morpeth Harrier Rory Leonard made a superb start to his 2019 outdoor track campaign, when he finished an excellent third in a star-studded Men’s 1500m field in the opening BMC Gold Standard Meeting, held at Birmingham University on the evening of Wednesday 8th May 2019. Finishing ahead of him were Shaftesbury Barnet Senior Man Mark Pearce, who clocked a new lifetime best of 3m47.66, and just ahead of Leonard in second place, was his Under 20 rival Thomas Keen of Cambridge and Coleridge, who also set new personal best figures of 3m48.48s. Meanwhile, not to be outdone, Leonard also clocked a new lifetime best of 3m48.93s, which clearly indicates the closeness of the first three finishers. Pearce’s winning time makes him currently 29th in the UK Senior rankings, whilst Keen and Leonard are first and second respectively in the Under 20 Men’s rankings. Leonard’s next outing is expected to be at the Loughborough International in ten days’ time, where he will test himself over 5000m, for the very first time on the track. Comments are closed.
