We are very sad and sorry to learn of the recent passing of our former club member Tom Horne, who for many years acted as our club treasurer, therefore attaining the title as a Club Officer, who in his competive era was a very prolific athlete, very often being in succesful Morpeth teams, alongside the likes of Ernie Slaughter, Peter Carmichael, and a very young Jim Alder.
Tom was also a well respected man in Morpeth, known to many in his role in the legal profession, as a partner and solicitor with Brumell and Sample.
In his leisure time, Tom enjoyed running, a good round of golf, and in latter days, artwork.
Sadly Tom passed away at the age of 92 on 18th October, and there is to be a cremation for him at Northumberland Crematorium, Bockenfield, near Felton on Thursday 29th October at 3pm.
Morpeth Harriers & AC would like to offer sincerest condolences to all of Tom's close family and friends at this very sad time.
