This policy explains how Morpeth Harriers & AC ("we", "us", "the club") handles information collected through this website. We are the data controller for that information. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact us using the details at the end.
What we collect
This website collects very little personal information. Specifically:
- Contact form. When you send us a message through our contact page we collect your name, email address, the subject, who you would like the message to reach, and the content of your message.
- Essential cookie. We use a single cookie to keep the website working (for example, to keep committee members logged in to the admin area). It is described in the Cookies section below.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP addresses and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. These are managed by our host.
We do not use any advertising, analytics or tracking on this website.
How we use your information
We use the details from the contact form only to read and respond to your message and to deal with whatever you have contacted us about. Our lawful basis for this is our legitimate interest in running the club and replying to enquiries, and your consent in choosing to contact us.
We do not use your information for marketing, and we do not sell it to anyone.
Cookies
This website uses one strictly necessary cookie, named clubsite_session. It allows the site to function and keeps committee members signed in to the admin area. It does not track you and is not used for advertising. Because it is essential to the operation of the site, it does not require your consent.
We do not currently use any analytics, social media or advertising cookies. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.
Membership and joining
Joining the club, renewing membership and supporter sign-ups are handled by our membership platform, RUNEM, which is a separate system with its own privacy arrangements. When you follow a Join, Renew or Support link you will be taken to RUNEM, and any information you provide there is handled under their privacy terms.
Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent your information. We only share it with the organisations that help us run the website on our behalf, namely our website host and our email provider, and only so far as is needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information if we are required to by law.
How long we keep it
We keep contact messages only for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, after which they are deleted. Technical server logs are kept by our host for a limited period in line with their normal practice.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete information where there is no good reason for us to keep it;
- object to or ask us to restrict how we use your information;
- withdraw any consent you have given.
