My group meet on Wednesdays at 6-30 pm for track sessions at Jarrow. On Saturday mornings we meet at various North East venues for either a road , hills or grass session , or a mixture of these. The group consists of mainly Morpeth Harriers but there are runners from other clubs also who are looking to train with a quality group. Wednesdays sessions are based on goal times for people and the idea is to be able to spend more time training in whatever is each individuals zone. You won’t therefore find runners spread right around the track , leaving it in training rather than racing. Runners need to be able to complete track sessions at the designated pace. Sometimes we therefore split into groups. Saturdays are different in that they are done at effort rather than predesignated pace. For example yesterday’s session was 5 times a challenging hill circuit stopping at 3 minutes on the whistle. There was still a measure of controlled effort however as runners had to attempt to reach the same point or further on each effort. I have a blog site which gives details of where the sessions are on Saturdays but if anyone is interested in coming along on either day you can reach me on 07889782832 or email [email protected]
