Five athletes from Morpeth Harriers were in action at a rain-soaked
Wentworth Stadium on the evening of Friday 2nd October 2020.
The events held were three 3000m races, two personal best performances
were achieved by Under 17 Woman Caitlin Flanagan, and Under 20 Man Joseph Anderson.
Caitlin finished third of four taking part in the opening event for
Under 15 and Under 17 athletes, posting a time of 12m20.1s.
It was her first attempt at the seven and a half lap event.
Joseph Anderson finished second in the fastest event, posting a time of 9m21.3s.
Other athletes from Morpeth Harriers taking part in the event were
Mark Snowball and Alistair Douglass.
Snowball finished seventh in 9m49.1s, however, Douglass,
who had originally finished second, found himself victim of the judge,
as he was wearing a new Nike shoe that has been deemed illegal for track running.
Morpeth Harriers other competing athlete Millie Breese, finished fifth in a mixed race,
posting a finishing time of 10m26.4s, just outsprinting fellow Under 17 Woman Katie Francis of Birtley AC.
