Morpeth Harrier Carl Avery was an agonising eight seconds adrift of his lifetime best,
when he finished thirteenth in the BM 10k in Brighton on Sunday 14th April 2019, posting a time of 29m41s behind Belgrave’s Nick Goolab, who won in a course record breaking time of 28m22s. Also running in the 10k event was fellow Morpeth Harrier Mhairi MacLennan, in her first outing since her excellent run in last month’s World Cross Country Championships in Aarhus in Denmark. MacLennan finished as second lady in 70th place overall, posting a time of 32m59s, just over a minute adrift of leading lady, and fellow Scotswoman Steph Twell of Aldershot and Farnham, who was 58th overall. The performance for MacLennan was most pleasing, as it represented a new personal best by nearly forty seconds. Comments are closed.
