James Young and Phillip Winkler and Joe Armstrong of Morpeth Harriers,
all competed at the annual British Universities Track and Field Championships, held at Bedford International Stadium over three days of competition, 29th April - 1st May 2017 After posting a personal best of 1min55.11s in his heat of the 800m, when finishing fourth, Lancaster University student Young, posted a slightly slower 1min 55.36 secs, but went out on his finishing place of fifth in his heat. Meanwhile, Leeds Beckett student Winkler, also posted new figures of 4m07.93s to qualify for the Semi Finals of the 1500m as a fastest loser, which also saw Durham University student Armstrong qualify by virtue of him finishing fourth in his heat in 4m04.67s. Unfortunately, Winkler and Armstrong advanced no further than the Semi’s, posting respective times of 4m11.28s, and 4m01.75s. Comments are closed.
