Despite winning both his heat and semi final of the Senior Men’s 1500m at the annual BUSA Track and Field Championships, held at Bedford County Stadium over Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, 4th, 5th, 6th May 2019,
Morpeth Harrier James Young fractionally missed out on a Championship medal in the Monday Final.
Finishing fourth in a top-class final field, and clocking 3m53.63s, he lost out for by less than a second to Brighton Phoenix’s George Mills, formerly with Harrogate, and Son of former International Footballer Danny Mills.
The winner of the Final was Joshua Lay, of Rugby and Northampton, who posted a Gold Medal winning time of 3m51.21s, and the Silver medal went to James McMurray of St Albans, who clocked 3m51.57s.
In the Saturday heat, Young had posted a winning time of 3m58.03s and returned to also win
on the Sunday in 3m52.12s, undoubtedly his best run of the three over a hectic weekend.
