Ten athletes from Morpeth Harriers have found favour with the respective selectors of Northumberland and Durham that see them competing at the forthcoming English Schools Track and Field Championships at Gateshead’s International Stadium on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th July 2015.
Nine of them compete for Northumberland, and one will be in the colours of Durham. In the Junior Boys events, Joe Dowd will be competing in the 800m, Taylor Glover, the North East Under 15 Boys 1500m Champion will contest the three and three quarter lap event, and North East Discus and Shot Champion Ruaridh Lang will contest the former. The Intermediate Boys section sees Kieran Hedley running 1500m, and Scott Beattie facing the rigours of seven and a half laps in the 3000m. In the Senior Boys section Adam Gibbs contests the 1500m. Continuing with Northumberland, in the Junior Girls section Jessica Young-Rogers, Hannah Brown, and Bobbie Griffiths respectively compete in the 100m/4x100m, 75m Hurdles, and Javelin events. Ryan Green, who in 2014 ran the Intermediate Boys 800m for Northumberland Schools, steps up to Senior level for Durham Schools, courtesy of him attending Gateshead College, again to run over the two lap event. Morpeth Harriers wish all of these athletes best of luck in their forthcoming competition. Comments are closed.
