On Wednesday 23rd May 2018, Mark Snowball took the winners title at the annual George Ogle Memorial Multi Terrain race in the Derwent Valley near Swalwell,
a favourite retreat of the former North East Official
and Cross-Country runner, whose memory is
preserved within the event.
He won, posting a time of 32m40s, beating
Blackhill Bounder Dave Best to the finish line by sixteen seconds, with Durham City Harrier Matt Walker finishing third in 34m34s.

A total of 193 finishers took part in the tough Multi Terrain event.
