Carl Avery and Emma Holt of Morpeth Harriers, were both well rewarded for their respective
season’s performances by receiving call ups to represent Northern Athletics at the Home Countries Cross Country International, held at Callender Park, in Falkirk Scotland on Saturday 19th March. Both performed well, in Avery’s case finishing an excellent fifth of 21 competitors in the Senior Men’s 10k event. He was only a mere twenty seven seconds adrift of winner Andrew Douglas of Scotland, as he led Northern Athletics to third team place behind a very strong winning England squad, and only a mere point behind second placed Scotland. Holt finished 12th in a 22 strong Senior Women’s 8k field, led home by Northern Champion Claire Duck of Leeds City, who on this occasion was representing England. Emma was second counter for a third placed Northern squad. Comments are closed.
