Morpeth Harriers & Athletics Club are very pleased to announce that their latest recipient
of the Linden Homes Athlete of the Month for April 2016, is Under 13 Girl Rhiannon Hedley. Hedley who was also a prominent force in the clubs Road & Cross Country squad, began her 2016 track campaign well by winning the 1500m at the opening meeting of the North Eastern Grand Prix series, in a time of 5m10.6s, which was agonisingly just four seconds adrift of her lifetime best, which nevertheless took her to the top of the regional rankings, and saw her in thirteenth place nationally. It also saw her achieve an award as Female Athlete of the Meeting for her efforts. Rhiannon’s award concludes the list of recipients of Linden Homes achievers for 2015-16, and she now joins Ruaridh Lang (May 2015), Bobbie Griffiths (June 2015), Scott Beattie (July 2015), David Thomas (August 2015), Kieran Hedley (September 2015), Holly Peck (October 2015), Taylor Glover (November 2015), Daniel Dixon (December 2015), Rory Leonard (January 2016), Amy Lott (February 2016), and Lily Heaton (March 2016) in the line-up for a more lucrative award as the Athlete of the Year, which will be decided very shortly. Rhiannon is pictured above receiving her well earned Certificate of Achievement from Morpeth Harriers Club Secretary Mike Bateman at the KEVI track, on Wednesday 1st June 2016.
