Morpeths Rory Leonard, who is still getting back to full fitness following a groin injury sustained during the Cross Country season, certainly made a positive step in the right direction when he produced a lifetime best of 4m23.67s in one of the seeded mixed 1500m races, at the Stretford Grand Prix meeting in Manchester
on Tuesday 7th June.
He finished 14th in a class field, that was headed by Liverpool Harrier Laurie Luscombe, who posted a winning time of 4m10.15s.
The field also included Female Internationals Jessica Judd
of Chelmsford, and Warrington’s Harriet Knowles-Jones.
Another Morpeth Harrier competing at the meeting was Josie Cram,
who clocked a season’s best of 2m20.43s,
when finishing seventh in one of the 800m events.
