Competing in the popular and prestigious Tees Pride 10k race on Sunday 3rd September 2017,
his first race since the sad death of his highly respected coach and mentor Gordon Surtees.
Morpeth’s Jonny Taylor finished second in a time of 31 minutes 9 seconds
behind Ethiopian Wondiye Fikre Indelbu (30m.52s).
Morpeth’s Tom Straughan finished sixth in 32m24s.
The women’s race was won by South African ultramarathon runner
Gerda Steyn in 36m 14s with last year’s winner Tracey Millmore second (36m 45s).
